The 55th Annual IAM Conference

Gallagher Transport was proud to sponsor the 55th Annual IAM Conference (International Association of Movers) held at the Long Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau October 9th through 12th. IAM represents more than 2,000 companies in over 170 countries.  Members are partners and innovators in moving, forwarding, shipping and logistics services.  

The IAM conference had a tremendous turnout of 1,800 attendees with 144 exhibitors. Due to the expanded attendance, additional hotels were needed as well as more exhibit space to accommodate the large crowd.

The theme “Charting a New Course” featured several innovative programs. A knowledge lab provided tips on networking with colleagues, a military and government affairs panel highlighted challenges regarding military moves, and a logistic network session discussed logistics in the moving industry.

A special feature of the IAM conference was the IAM World lounge, where exhibitors gathered to build relationships with moving industry representatives from around the world.   The Mobility Exchange, an online member directory, also debuted at the conference.  Providing information in digital format about the event and the attendees, the Exchange replaces the physical directory.
